In two ceremonies in June 2025, the 10-meter-wide tapestry Welcome to Country was cut off the looms after a yearlong weaving process. Designed by the combined effort of Maree Clark and her nephew Mitch Mahoney, the tapestry was woven in two halves on the Australian Tapestry Workshop’s 5-metre-wide looms. This tapestry is to hang in the New Footscray Hospital, that is currently being built and was funded by the Tapestry Foundation of Australia, with co-funding partners the State Government of Victoria and the Australian Hotels Association. This is the second of the Premier’s Suite tapestries woven for Victorian Hospitals.
